Deleted scenes from my books

Editing a book is not always about re-writing – sometimes it’s about taking things out altogether. Trimming down the manuscript can really help to maintain the pace of a story and build the kind of momentum that I love in a thriller.

But what happens to those deleted scenes?

I’ve been thinking about this recently as I worked on the structural edit of my next book, The Daughter, feeding in all of my editor’s comments and observations on the story to make it the very best it can be.

The Daughter - coming February 2025

Having just sent the new version back to my editor, I’m now thinking about which deleted scene I’ll be sending out in the build-up to publication in March 2025.

Subscribers to my newsletter will be sent this exclusive taster for free, as with my earlier books. The deleted scenes from five previous novels have never actually been gathered together in one place before. Until now…

The Dream Home – Adam and Jess make their first visit to 91 Regency Place, a house full of secrets.

The Mother – a tense courtroom scene as Heather, on trial for the murder of her husband, waits for the verdict.

Trust Me – Kathryn and baby Mia prepare to set out on a dangerous journey

The Holiday – four friends gather for a hen night that will change one of them forever.

Lies – Joe makes a desperate bid to confront the man he suspects is trying to ruin his life.

Enjoy!
