A win for The Dream Home

The Dream Home was crowned Audiobook of the Year at the Fingerprint Awards!

It’s the first award I’ve ever won and I’m hugely grateful to everyone who voted for it – and of course to the brilliant Richard Armitage who really brought the story to life as narrator of the audio version.

The awards are presented each year at the Capital Crime Festival in London and they are decided by public vote, which makes this win extra special. I had told my wife Sally beforehand that we were up against a very tough shortlist so it was a real surprise when the presenter, Steph McGovern, announced that The Dream Home had claimed the prize!

Meanwhile, paperback publication of The Daughter is just around the corner and I’m delighted to reveal that it has a new jacket for the summer. I really like it, it’s fresh and distinctive for the summer but with a real hint of the mystery and menace within.

The Daughter will be out in paperback on Thursday 3rd July. I always love to get pre-orders as they’re such a big help to a new book in its first week, so if you can pre-order I would really appreciate it. Of course, it also means you’ll have a lovely new paperback delivered to your door on publication day – perfect timing if you’re setting off soon on a summer break 😊

We’re just back from a trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy which is an amazing part of the world I’ve never visited before. Highlights for me were walking the 2,000-year-old streets of Pompeii, exploring the island of Capri and a spectacular hike along the coast called the Path of the Gods. Beautiful!

Which reminds me… my destination thriller The Holiday is back in shops for the summer. It’s already been part of the WHSmith Travel Book Club and it’s now also in Tesco and the summer books selection in Lidl.

And finally, in case you missed it: some exciting news for readers in North America!

The Room in the Attic will be published in the US and Canada in January 2026 and I’m very excited to have a book out there for the first time in several years. It came out as The Dream Home in the UK last year but has a new title plus new cover for this version, and I can’t wait to find out what readers on the other side of the Atlantic make of it…
