A paperback bestseller!
What a week! I've been recovering from for a brilliant-but-busy weekend in Harrogate at the Crime Writing Festival, celebrating my son's university graduation and now I've got even more to smile about because... The Daughter has hit the Sunday Times chart in paperback!
The Daughter hit the Sunday Times top ten chart in paperback
This is the first time I've had a paperback in the charts since The Holiday in 2019!
It also means that The Daughter has now landed a hattrick of chart positions - in hardback and paperback, as well as hitting the number one slot on Kindle. Just the audiobook chart to conquer now and then we've got them all!

In all seriousness though, there are some enormous thanks to be said for such a mammoth win. It truly takes a village to publish a book and to publish it well means that village must be full of incredible people.
And of course, the biggest thanks must go to my readers. Without their support, I'm just a bloke in a cabin in his garden writing stories about all the scariest 'what ifs'. It's no overstatement to say they have changed my life.
Anyway, I’m off back into the cabin now :-) to dive back into the edit of my tenth thriller, The Weekend, coming in March 2026. More on this soon…
