The Weekend - coming Feb 2026

I love the atmospheric sky, the vibrant colours, the setting with a stone-built cottage on the moors; as well as how it tones in with my other book covers. The Weekend will be novel no.10 for me so it already feels extra special, and I can’t wait to see it alongside its nine siblings on the shelf in my writing cabin.

The cottage on the front cover is where The Weekend starts, as six friends gather to celebrate New Year’s Eve high in the North Yorkshire Dales. But little do they know, a chance discovery is about to trigger a terrifying chain of events – and change all their lives forever… 

Part of the inspiration for the book came from my own family’s trips to North Yorkshire. When my kids were growing up we would go there with friends to celebrate New Year’s Eve, staying in places like Pateley Bridge, Grassington, Melmerby and Thirsk. There were always plenty of winter walks, games, hearty meals and pub stops, and it’s an absolutely beautiful part of the world.

I’ve been busy editing the manuscript over the last few weeks, to get it ready to send back to my editor in early September. Then a couple of detailed edits after that to finalise everything and get ready for the first proof copies to be sent out into the world later in the autumn.
